Heather Brown has over 15 years experience in marketing and communications. She has managed marketing and communications services for esteemed hotel brands including Rosewood, The Ritz-Carlton, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and independent properties including The Palace New York, The Ranch Laguna Beach, Nizuc Resort & Spa Cancun, Hotel Sax Chicago, Fillmore Hospitality, Mountain Lake Lodge, and many more. Prior to starting her consulting practice, she spent ten years with Montage Hotels & Resorts where she led the marketing launch of the new ultra-luxury hotel brand. From its inception to the opening of the company's three hotels in Laguna Beach, Beverly Hills and Park City, UT, Brown has helped frame the brand and market the resorts, spas, residences, restaurants and boutiques to a premiere demographic. As director of brand marketing for Montage Hotels & Resorts, she handled all aspects of brand development and marketing including managing the online and social media strategies; public relations; printed collateral and visual graphic standards; customer relationship management initiatives; new customer acquisition strategies; brand partnerships; and more. During her tenure, Brown has created programs that have been emulated across the hospitality industry and helped elevate Montage to become one of the nation's most respected luxury brands.
Prior to joining Montage, Brown was director of public relations and marketing communications at The Argent Hotel in San Francisco. In her role, she launched the repositioning of the property in the San Francisco marketplace through a significant public relations and online marketing program. She managed a series of marketing and community relations programs to drive leisure, group and catering business.
Brown started her hospitality marketing and public relations career at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco as public relations manager. Her responsibilities included all facets of media relations, advertising and marketing communications for the historic hotel and spa.
Before joining the St. Francis, Brown worked at The Montgomery Group, a San Francisco-based, full-service public relations and marketing firm with a focus on agriculture, financial and medical services.
Brown specializes in brand development and strategic public relations and marketing programs in the golf, travel/tourism, spa, restaurant, and luxury consumer good industries. Her experience includes website development/management, collateral/brochure development, direct mail, advertising, special events, media relations/placement, sponsorship programs/partnerships and community relations.
She holds a bachelor of arts in journalism and communications from The University of Oregon.
