Kate is the managing director and owner of Carrot Communications. She’s worked in the PR and communications business for more than 20 years, across a wide range of business-to-business, technology, corporate and consumer companies, including P&O, Atos, SeaWorld, Overture, Omniture, Efficient Frontier, Kaspersky, and Ask.com.
Kate left global agency life in 2000 to be part of Carrot Communications, and took over ownership of the company in 2011. Before joining Carrot Communications, Kate headed the travel and leisure division of Shandwick. In 2013, she co-founded Polpeo, a company which creates social media crisis simulations to train companies on how to manage an online brand attack. Polpeo is a joint venture with social media management agency, Emoderation.
She has spoken and run crisis workshops at international events and conferences including SXSW (Austen 2014), The Global PR Summit (Miami 2014), PR Week’s Crisis Communications conference (London 2015) and Social Shake Up (Atlanta 2015).
Kate sits on the PRCA’s digital steering committee, and is a member of the CIPR.
