Pen manages relationships with financial institutions, asset managers, hedge funds and private equity companies. Pen has outstanding Wall Street and financial media relationships having worked as a financial communications and media relations professional for over 20 years. His specialties include capital markets, derivatives and securities trading services.
On Wall Street, he headed up investment banking media relations in the Americas for Morgan Stanley and spent 10 years in senior communications roles at Credit Suisse. On the agency side, he managed private equity and hedge fund clients billing over $1 million in fees as a senior vice president at Abernathy MacGregor Group. At AMG, he grew new business and managed an account team with clients including: Blackstone Alternatives, Man Group, Hellman & Friedman, and Galleon.
He also has experience serving financial services industry trade associations. Previously, he was Head of Media Relations at The Bond Market Association. He served as the Association’s spokesperson on a variety of fixed income issues, including the bankruptcy of Orange County and the growth of structured debt securities. Earlier in his career as an agency counselor, he handled media strategy for the derivatives industry trade group, International Swap Dealers Association (ISDA).
In a 2011 survey by Gorkana, Pen was named “most respected” in Wall Street PR. As a crisis counselor, he has helped manage a variety of litigation and reputational issues, including the IPO of Facebook and the bankruptcy of Enron.
