Over the past two decades, Eric Bearse has earned a reputation as one of the most respected communicators in Texas politics. As a speechwriter, he’s crafted memorable messages for governors, senators and business leaders across Texas and around the nation. His advertising campaigns have generated millions in earned media for clients, and been praised as "especially brilliant," "nuclear strength" and "a home run."
Before establishing Bearse & Co. in 2007, Bearse served as Gov. Rick Perry’s chief speechwriter for eight years. During that time, he wrote more than 2,000 speeches and dozens of television and radio ads that helped make Perry the state’s longest serving governor. He also helped Gov. Perry write his first published book, On My Honor.
Prior to his stint with Gov. Perry, Eric served on numerous campaigns and as a congressional aide.
A 1993 graduate of Texas A&M University, Bearse was a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He, and his wife Jené, have two young children, Charlotte and Andrew, and reside in Austin.
